Beta privacy notice

The short version

• We keep what you need to use Kaikumi, and we don't sell it or use it for advertising.
• There are no ads, analytics or tracking cookies. One cookie keeps you signed in.
• Descriptions you give the AI go to the AI provider you choose.
• Your private work stays private until you choose to share it.

1. Who we are

Kaikumi is run by Justin Szilard. Contact: justin@madebylakeshore.com.

2. What we keep

• Your account:
  • Sign-in is handled by WorkOS, which holds your password. We keep an opaque sign-in identifier, the public handle you choose, and the email address WorkOS has verified for you, updated each time you sign in.
  • We use your email address to match your invitation and to contact you about the beta. It is never shown to other people, and it is never a way to sign in.
  • We keep the email addresses we invite, whether and when your invitation was accepted, and which version of these policies you accepted.
• What you make: your files, versions, titles and descriptions, the vehicle applications you declare, suggestions, outcome reports, follows, and your private garage.
• Photos:
  • Published photos and AI test photos are kept only as copies with location and camera details removed.
  • Other photos in your versions are kept exactly as uploaded. People you share that version with, such as a design's owners reviewing a suggestion, can download the original.
• Create with AI and Improve with AI: your descriptions, the programs the AI writes, the models you chose, what each attempt cost, and the measurements of the parts. We also keep the model files of your newest 20 attempts.
• Technical records: our hosting keeps request logs (such as which page was requested and when) to run and protect the service.

3. Who else handles it

• Render hosts the site and database, in Ohio, USA.
• Cloudflare R2 stores uploaded files.
• Backblaze B2 stores our daily backups, encrypted with a key only we hold.
• WorkOS handles sign-in.
• OpenRouter, and the AI provider running the model you choose, receive your AI descriptions, the generated programs, and the measured size and faces of a part you are changing. The providers are OpenAI (GPT-6 Luna and GPT-6 Sol), Moonshot AI, Fireworks or Together (Kimi K3), and Anthropic, Google, Amazon or Microsoft (Claude Sonnet 5). Providers that train on what they receive are excluded. A provider may keep it for a limited time under its own policy, often up to 30 days, for example to monitor abuse. Don't include personal or confidential information.
• E2B runs each generated program in an isolated sandbox with no internet access. When you change an existing part, its STEP file is sent there to be measured and built. Your descriptions are not.

4. Who can see what

• Your versions are private until you share them.
• A suggestion is seen by the design's owners.
• Members of a design see its versions.
• Publications, your handle, your outcome reports and your creator page are seen by everyone who can use the site: during the closed beta, invited testers.
• Your garage, your follows and your AI drafts are private to you.
• Your email address is seen only by us.

5. How long we keep it

• Your account and work: while your account exists, unless you remove them.
• Your email address: while your account exists. When WorkOS reports a different or unverified address at sign-in, we replace or remove the one we kept.
• AI descriptions and programs: until your account is deleted. Model files: your newest 20 attempts.
• Backups: each daily backup is kept for up to 15 days, so removed or withdrawn data can survive in backups for that long. A separate log of who removed what is kept for up to 17 days, so that a restore never brings removed things back.

6. Your choices

You can withdraw your publications, retract your outcome reports, remove garage entries and unfollow designs yourself. To see what we hold about you, correct it, or delete your account, write to justin@madebylakeshore.com. Withdrawing cannot recall copies others already downloaded.

7. Cookies

One cookie keeps you signed in. There are no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies.

8. Age

Kaikumi is for people aged 18 or over.

9. Changes

If this notice changes, we will publish a new version here and ask you to accept it before you continue.
